Blasts at Chinnaswami Stadium delays RCB-MI clash

Bangalore: Minutes before the Royal Challangers Bangalore host Mumbai Indians at the Chinnaswami Stadium in Bengaluru, there was a major security scare when 2 minor blasts occurred in the generator room at one of the gates of the stadium.

The blast left 6 people wounded including a policeman and a private security guard posted at gate No 11. The injured and immediately rushed to the Mallya hospital.

While the first blast took place at the Anil Kumble circle, the second explosion took place at the gate number 12.

The explosion triggered panic as it came an hour before the start of the IPL match has resulted in a delayed start.

Reports claim that an over-heated generator might have caused the blasts.

The police, it is believed, are not taking any chances as the security forces have launched into an over-drive to avoid further mishaps.
